EV owners: the honest six-month review

Not the brochure. EV range drops noticeably in cold weather — sometimes 20-30% in freezing temps — public fast chargers are still hit-or-miss depending where you live, and resale values have been less predictable than gas cars while the market figures itself out. But charging overnight at home is genuinely cheaper than gas for most people, and fewer moving parts means less routine maintenance. Six months in, real owners: the charging, the winter range, the road trips that went badly. Would you buy another one, or was this a one-time experiment?

Winter range is the thing nobody tells you. Plan for 30% less and you'll be fine.

Two years in, would absolutely buy another. The road trips need more planning though.
