You don't need to subscribe to listen in, ask a question, or even host your first session — Free hosts get 5-seat tables up to 60 minutes long and the Q&A copilot. Hosts upgrade to Pro when they want bigger rooms, private tables, the full AI suite, or ticketed sessions.

No. Phensy runs in your browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge. Audio and video work without installs. Your browser will ask permission for camera and microphone the first time, and that's it. Mobile browsers work too; a dedicated mobile app is on the roadmap.

Phensy is built for small-to-medium live audiences (5–20 people depending on tier) and is not a great fit for webinars-to-a-crowd or async on-demand classes.

Public tables are listed and joinable via shared link. Private tables (a Pro feature) are invite-only and never surface in any directory. Either way, audio and video stream through self-hosted Jitsi infrastructure; only the AI features (recap, fact-check, polls) talk to Phensy's backend, and transcripts live only as long as you need them for the recap.

Phensy is run from Sweden and built GDPR-compliant from the start. Privacy policy and terms cover the specifics — including sub-processors, data retention, and your right to request deletion. Transcripts and recap data are deleted on a schedule you control.
