Everyone has an opinion about your risk tolerance the moment you mention leaving something stable at 45 — too late to start over, too young to coast, a mortgage and a pension you'd be walking away from. Anyone actually done it? What did the math actually look like when you ran it, and was the fear or the reality worse?
