I really love the song. It both praises and criticises Germany. But the clip is on another level. It is like a short history of Germany. Why do you think this lady symbolises Germany? What are those red lights? What do you think about the clip?

Genuinely never expected a metal video to turn into a full German history lecture. The camp imagery in particular is heavy for a song this catchy.
I think Germania represents Germany embracing its whole history at once, not just the good parts. That's why she's holding the severed head, no?
The red lasers read very Cold War surveillance-state to me, especially against that crumbling industrial backdrop.
Rammstein got insane backlash for this one in Germany when it dropped. Some stations refused to play it.
Watching this again after years and the pearls + Elizabethan collar on Germania is such a deliberate choice — old-world royalty draped over WWII-era horror.
Not gonna lie the visuals almost overshadow the actual song for me.
